Meow hi :D
Sry for the lack of updates! I've been having trouble getting comics lately :( I'm not even sure I got all the ones I needed to to make up for last week :(
Neways.. this is what I got this week :D
Batman - #674
Blue Beetle - #25
Green Lantern - #29
Legion of Superheroes - #40
Salvation Run - #5 (of 7)
For some reason I'm currently not feeling that enthusiastic about the comics (except for Blue Beetle xD) so this might be kind of a blah super short review :( I'm not having a very good day and I got cancelled on for something I was rly looking forward too :\ I apologize in advance :(
Batman - #674 - Weird :o And confusing :o I'm rly not that interested in this plot and it's been stretched out over such a long period of time that I'm just sorta "meh" about the whole thing :( I'm sorta curious about what happens next, but I didn't rly enjoy this issue :( 2/5
Blue Beetle - #25 - This is pretty much the most perfect conclusion you could come up with to end Rogers' 25 issue (more or less, there've been a couple filler issues) run on Blue Beetle! :D It's great and action packed, full of surprise appearaces (well maybe not that surprising) and lots of scenes that show just why Jaime is such a special and great hero! :D It stumbles a little at one point where it gets a little cliched, but everything else is just awesome and I dun think we could ask for nething more :D 5/5
Green Lantern - #29 - I dun rly know the "official" origin of Hal Jordan, so I can't tell you if this is accurate or not, but I did enjoy it and I thought it did show me a lot about Hal and how he came to be who he is now and stuff :) Not action packed and exciting, but I liked it! :D 3.5/5
Legion of Superheroes - #40 - I'm rly liking this current run of LoS :D It's cute and funny with a strong focus on characterization over action and forced plots and I rly like that :) Plus we finally get to see Brainy and he's a joy to see again :D And yus it's a bit of a teen drama/soap opera, but it's a teen drama done RIGHT! Sean McKeever could take some notes for Titans from Shooter. >:\ 4/5
Salvation Run - #5 (of 7) - Mrr... I dunno.. I rly liked SR when it started out but now it's just kinda.. more of the same... I dunno xD I was hoping for more characterization and less "name on name" fighting :\ However, the story is apparently going to move in a new interesting direction judging from the end of this issue and that intrigues me :) 3/5
:o
Yus, so that's it for this week :) I will hopefully have some reviews up tho I've had a very busy week and I have a busy weekend too so I dunno... we'll see! :D I apologize for all the busyness and everything lately tho :(
Bai :D

11 angel hugs! :D:
Why are you having problems getting comics?
Do you have a pull list at one of the local shops?
There have been some additions to Hal's origins over the years (which isn't uncommon in comics as you know). Some of what showed up in issue 29 was covered in an issue or two in recent years (seems fairly fresh in memory, so I'm thinking it has been slipped in here and there during Geoff's run).
I was very much liking Jim Shooter's recent tour on LSH until this most recent issue. I've been a BIG fan of Mark Waid and Barry Kitson's run on the title. It seems like Shooter is kicking their version to the curb with issue 40. Braniac is exhibiting a very different personality (he isn't quite as distant and cold as he was during the Waid's revamp) and Timber Wolf doesn't even resemble the same character at all. Seems to me Shooter is dropping back to what I assume was the 70s versions of the characters. I don't like that at all.
Did you read any of the Waid/Kitson version?
Yus :)
As you may remember I wrote a post praising their run :)
YESS!!! I'm so glad to see they are doing a origin story on the Green Lantern book, I think I'm finally going to start picking it up!
I missed out on the Sinestro Corps War, and man those issues are so hard to get!
Grant Morrison always seemed weird to me, if you could only pick either Batman or Batman Detective, which would you go with?
Hi Pat :)
Yus, the Sinestro Corps War is pretty popular :( However, the TPB should be out soon enuf and you can get that :D
I recommend Detective Comics right now since it's a lot closer to what Batman is about with solving mysteries and stuff and Batman seems to come out inconsistantly and delayed lately :\ Detective is also a lot easier to get into :)
Have you ever watched the Batman: Animated Series? :o
Hell Ya!!!
I was a huge fan of it when I was younger, hmmm.. I think it was gargoyles and Batman the animated series on fox tv my brothers and I would watch.
Anyways it was fantastic! I'll definitely check out detective 841, though it looks like 842 wasn't that good (ugh, no more rhaz al ghul!!).
Btw: For batman the animated series, my brothers and I won a poster for calling in on fox kids (wayyyy old school). I still have it, though it's beat up.

I searched on youtube for my favorite episode ( The man who killed batman), and they had this awesome clip, check it out!!!!

Anyway keep up the good work!
I ask b/c the current Detective Comics run is written by Paul Dini who was a producer and writer for Batman: The Animated Series and many of his issues have a B:TAS feel and flow to them so you'll prolly like this :)
Avoid ANYTHING in the "resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul arc tho b/c that arc wasn't that good :\
I just assumed Timberwolf's change in demeanour was b/c of his transformation in the Berard run right before this current Shooter run.
[let me try that again]
I must admit, I missed that post regarding Waid and Kitson's run on LoSH.
So what did you think of Brainy and Timber Wolf in issue 40, Ami? Do you agree with my assertion that they are being portrayed much different than how Waid characterized them?
I realize Timber Wolf has been a loose canon in previous incarnations of LoSH (such as the Giffen/Bierbaum era -- which was my first exposure to the characters), but I didn't see so much of that in this recent incarnation (the Waid version). He was obviously still a little rough around the edges, but not quite as reckless and unpredictable. Jim Shooter seems to be throwing him back to those roots. And how about Brainiac? I thought Mark Waid did an excellent job of making him cold, condescending, and basically someone who was going to do his own thing regardless of what anyone else though. In issue 40, he is almost on the verge of being comic relief with his stumping for attention. I think the Waid version of the character would have handled that much differently (as in he would have demanded their attention and made absolutely sure he received it).
What are your impressions?
Dang.
See, I haven't read the Bedard issues.
I've been following this series in trade form (though I've gone back to the monthlies with the arrival of Jim Shooter), and the most recent trade only covers up through issue 30 (which I believe was the end of Waid and Kitson's run).
So apparently there was something that happened to Timber Wolf that might explain Shooter's characterization.
Double dang.
He's my favorite LoSH member and I was really liking the fact he was a little more stable in this version.
