Synopsis: Dwarfstar is walking along in the eternal grey of atoms, talking about how he's slowly going crazy, but one day he starts seeing colour and realizes he's growing slowly. :O He swears to take his revenge on the Dean for abandoning him but esp on Ryan for getting him stuck there. :O
Ryan comes back from his unfortunate adventures in Hong Kong and gets picked up at the airport by a cab driven by the weird guy who speaks in anagrams who directed him to Ray Palmer's belt in the first place. :O
Ryan tries to subdue him to get answers about who he rly is, wondering if he's Ray Palmer, but the guy's head comes off and he appears to be a manniquin! However he keeps talking. :O
Ryan drives the taxi but loses control of it and it slams into a brick wall. :(
However, Ryan is okay and he walks home where he finds that his professor friends are throwing a party!
Suddenly Atom's old villains attack! :O But they are a pathetic lot that Ryan easily defeats XD
After the fight, the cab driver reappears and sends the villains away saying that he had to test Ryan to see if he was worthy. He asks Ryan to help him find Ray Palmer b/c even tho he hated him, he respects him as well and feels bad for what happened to him with his ex-wife. :(
Then the cab driver reveals himself to be Chronos! :O
Review: Chronos! :O
I like that he respects Ray tho :D I think more villains should have a respect for the hero they fight, and vice versa. :D
Sometimes it kinda seems like a game they play? It's more fun that way sometimes? :\ At least if the villains dun kill ppl, then it's okay? :o But if they do, "playing" the game by continuously defeating the villain and then having him escape only to do it again, is bad b/c ppl die in the process :(
But I do think that if something rly bad happens to certain villains, the heroes would definitely help them, and apparently vice versa? :D
Identity Crisis still affects us all :(
I like that Ryan was able to defeat the villains so easily tho! :O And I'm amused they all look so goofy and suck so much XDDD
I am super glad to see Ryan back to his fun self when fighting. :D He's not broody and mopey and stuff like he was during the Jia arc. :(
I think that Ryan teaming up with Chronos will be super fun? :D Chronos seems fun! XD And it should be interesting :D
I wish that Ryan wouldn't have to find Ray so soon tho? :\ It feels like that Ryan just isn't up to the job and needs to be replaced or something :( But I hope he gets to stay as the Atom and isn't forced to get some alternate identity like Arsenal or Nightwing. :\
Dwarfstar confuses me. :O How did he survive so long without food and water? :O He may be tiny but he still needs sustinence! Wouldn't he have starved and died a long time ago? :\
Confusing :(
I still dun understand how he could even stay small without the belt to protect him. :\ Or how he can breathe when he's the size of an atom o_O;;
But this is comic science neways XD It would be gruesome if Ryan left him to die. :(
I look forward to Ryan/Dwarfstar part 2 :D
Neways... not a lot happened because of the fight and the taxi cab stuff, but it was a fun issue and I'm so glad that Ryan's stopped doing his Spiderman impression and is back to being fun and happy :D
Angelwings Rating: 4.5 out of 5 slowly growing Dwarfstars :D
Recommendation: It's time to get back on the Atom train :D

Absolutely. It doesn't work with every villain, but every hero needs at least one of those. When Catwoman was a villain, she and Batman were kinda like that (with the mutual attraction thing added, natch).
But I do think that if something rly bad happens to certain villains, the heroes would definitely help them, and apparently vice versa? :D
That would be a great story.
Dwarfstar! It is about time. Except any sooner would be too soon. :-P I hope he turns out more interesting than 'You stopped me from killing people, now I have a permanent grudge against you' though.
But I hope he gets to stay as the Atom and isn't forced to get some alternate identity like Arsenal or Nightwing. :\
I think the position of Nightwing is taken?
This issue sold out at my FLCS, after I asked the clerk to put it on my pull list for three months in a row... :^/
...and after tracking it down at another store, I'm glad I did, because this is the best issue of the series so far. It's been a bumpy ride from the beginning, but now I feel like the book's really straightened out and taken off.
If you're reading this, Ms. Simone, thank you very much for my best read this week.
Can anyone identify all of Ray's Rogues? The only ones I recognized were the Bug-Eyed Bandit and Floronic Man.
